The Department of Home Affiars under new Minister Leon Schreiber has cleared a 306 000 visa backlog in a matter of months, but how much of this is the result of visa rejections for irrational reasons. That was the case of a recent UK accounting professional who waited two years and eventually took his case to court. The court ordered the department to issue the visa within 30 days.
