Slow motion trade tariff investigations are taking nearly three years to complete

The International Trade Administration Commission (Itac) is taking nearly three years to complete open tariff investigations that should take six months.
That’s according to the latest Import Duty Investigation report just published by XA Global Trade Advisors, which shows that investigations by Itac – the body overseeing SA’s trade regime – are taking longer than ever before, with results that are increasingly unpredictable.
